Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols is a senior editor Ziff Davis Internet. There, among other duties, he the lead for eWEEK.com's Linux and open-source section and the lead columnist for Linux Watch.
Prior to his current position, Steven published more than 2,500 technology and business articles from publications ranging from PC Magazine to Byte to IEEE Computer to The Washington Post. Along the way, he's served on the launch team for such Ziff Davis publications as Inter@ctive Week and Sm@rt Partner and Meckler's Internet World. Before becoming a technology journalist, Vaughan-Nichols worked at NASA and the Department of Defense on numerous major technological projects, where he started using the *nix family of operating systems when was but a wee lad.
